Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann blessed with a daughter with his second wife today.

He and his wife, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, have welcomed the baby girl and shared their happy moment on X.

The joyful news was shared by Mann himself on social media, stating that both mother and baby are in good health. The delivery took place at Fortis Hospital in Mohali, Punjab.

This marks Mann’s third child, and his first with Dr. Gurpreet Kaur. Mann, who previously served as a comedian and Member of Parliament, married Dr. Kaur in July 2022, four months after assuming office as the Chief Minister of Punjab.

The Chief Minister has two children, a son, and a daughter, from his previous marriage to Inderpreet Kaur, whom he divorced in 2015. His former wife and children currently reside in the United States.

During a public address on Republic Day in Ludhiana, Mann surprised many by announcing the impending arrival of his new child, emphasizing that he and his wife had chosen not to determine the baby’s gender, advocating against sex determination tests.

Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, originally from Kurukshetra, Haryana, completed her MBBS from Maharishi Markandeshwar University in Mullana, Haryana, in 2018.

This significant event makes Bhagwant Mann the first Chief Minister of the reorganized state of Punjab to become a father while in office. The couple’s joyous occasion has been warmly received by well-wishers and supporters across the state.
