Lalu Is Corrupt, Prioritizes His Family Over Public Welfare: Bihar’s Deputy CM: Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Choudhary, has criticised former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, calling him corrupt and accusing him of prioritizing his family over public welfare. Choudhary, a BJP leader, stated that Lalu no longer holds influence over the people of Bihar and accused him of attempting to stir communal discord, a behavior he claimed Yadav has exhibited for a long time.

Choudhary’s remarks come as the RJD, headed by Lalu Prasad Yadav, released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The list includes Yadav’s daughter, Bima Bharti, who will contest from the Purnia seat, and Misa Bharti, who will contest from the Patliputra constituency. The party also announced candidates for several other seats.

Earlier, Choudhary challenged Yadav to name a policy started by him during his 15-year rule as chief minister that was later discontinued by the current chief minister, Nitish Kumar. Choudhary questioned Yadav’s understanding of policies and accused him of lacking a significant policy legacy.
Choudhary also commented on Yadav’s recent visit to the Hariharnath temple in Bihar’s Saran district, suggesting that it was driven by fear of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He expressed confidence in the BJP’s victory in the upcoming elections, stating that the alliance between Nitish Kumar and PM Modi would secure victory in all 40 seats in Bihar.
The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Bihar will be held in seven phases, starting April 19, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4.
