Yadav emphasized that these promises are centered around crucial developmental issues and the welfare of the people of Bihar. Speaking at the manifesto launch event, he expressed the party’s commitment to fulfilling these promises responsibly.

Among the key promises outlined in the manifesto is the pledge to provide government jobs to one crore youth nationwide if the INDI Alliance, led by RJD, comes to power. Addressing the issue of unemployment, Yadav highlighted that the BJP had failed to deliver on its promise of creating 2 crore jobs and asserted that RJD would fulfill its commitment by providing 1 crore jobs.

Additionally, the manifesto promises to implement the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) and grant special status to Bihar. Yadav announced that if his government is elected, the process of job creation would commence on August 15, offering hope to alleviate unemployment.

Furthermore, RJD pledges to provide financial support to poor women, with a promise of Rs 1 lakh annually starting from Raksha Bandhan. Other commitments include providing gas cylinders at a subsidized rate of Rs 500, offering 200 units of free electricity, and constructing five new airports in Bihar to improve connectivity.

Tejashwi Yadav criticized the BJP government, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prioritize issues such as poverty, unemployment, and special status for Bihar. He accused the BJP of sidestepping these critical issues and diverting attention elsewhere.

The Lok Sabha elections in Bihar are scheduled to take place across seven phases, with 40 seats up for grabs. In the 2019 elections, the NDA emerged victorious, winning 39 out of 40 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan managed to secure only one seat.

As the political landscape in Bihar gears up for another electoral battle, Tejashwi Yadav and the RJD are banking on their ’24 Promises For 2024′ manifesto to resonate with voters and propel them to victory.

The Pitfalls of Freebie Politics: A Threat to India’s Economic and Social Fabric

The allure of freebie politics, while enticing to voters, carries significant negative implications for the long-term economic and social fabric of a nation. Politicians often promise extravagant giveaways without transparently disclosing the funding sources, leaving citizens in the dark about the financial feasibility of such pledges. This lack of fiscal responsibility creates a dangerous precedent wherein elected officials feel entitled to utilize taxpayer money as their personal resource once in power.

Consequently, taxpayers may become disillusioned and hesitant to contribute their hard-earned income to the government, fearing it will be squandered on self-serving political agendas. Moreover, this trend penalizes diligent workers who strive to generate income through honest means, fostering a culture of resentment and disincentivizing productivity.

Furthermore, an over-reliance on government handouts fosters a mentality of dependency among certain segments of the population, discouraging initiative and self-sufficiency. In the long run, such practices threaten to erode the foundational principles of hard work, meritocracy, and fiscal prudence, posing a grave threat to India’s economic prosperity and social cohesion.

Therefore, it is imperative for policymakers and citizens alike to recognize the detrimental consequences of freebie politics and advocate for responsible governance grounded in accountability, transparency, and sustainable economic practices.
