“We are seriously concerned at the escalation of hostilities between Israel and Iran which threatens the peace and security in the region. We call for immediate de-escalation, exercise of restraint, stepping back from violence and return to the path of diplomacy,” stated the MEA.

The ministry further affirmed that they are closely monitoring the evolving situation in the Iran-Israel conflict and maintaining close contact with the Indian community through their embassies in the region. The MEA emphasized the importance of ensuring security and stability in the region amidst the heightened tensions.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has convened a meeting of his war cabinet in Tel Aviv in response to Iran’s retaliation following the embassy strike, which resulted in the deaths of three top Iranian military generals.

The Iranian attack has raised concerns globally, prompting US President Joe Biden to hold talks with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu after discussions with the Security Cabinet and the War Cabinet.

The situation remains tense as both Israel and Iran navigate the aftermath of the recent hostilities, with the international community closely watching developments and advocating for peaceful resolution through diplomatic channels.
