Anna Hazare’s Interview on Kejriwal
Reporter: Anna Ji, the man who stood beside you and protested against corruption under your leadership is now facing allegations of corruption in a liquor scam and is under the custody of the ED. What do you have to say on this?
Anna Hazare: “Jai Karni Waisi Bharni” (As you sow, so shall you reap). It is the rule of karma that if you do good, you are rewarded, and if you do wrong, you are punished. Whatever happened to Arvind Kejriwal is the result of his actions.
Anna further added that there is a difference between what Kejriwal says and what he does (karni aur kathani mein farak aa gaya hai). He is paying for it.
Reporter: Are you unhappy that Kejriwal is in jail?
Anna Hazare: Why should I be unhappy? I will reiterate, everyone pays for their deeds. He is paying for what he does.
Reporter: During the Lokpal Andolan (India Against Corruption Movement), Kejriwal said that the Congress Government is a corrupt government, and now the Congress and other parties are in favor of Kejriwal, and Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party has joined hands with the same Congress. What is your stand on this?
Anna Hazare: It is true, and I would not like to comment on it. But what I can say is that the public must teach a lesson to corrupt politicians.
Conclusion
Hazare’s words come at a time when Kejriwal’s arrest has sparked discussions about honesty in politics. As Kejriwal stays in jail, Hazare’s comments highlight the importance of accountability in Indian politics.
