Congress Leader Digvijaya Singh Raises Concerns Over EVM’s Integrity Ahead of Lok Sabha 2024 Polls: As the Lok Sabha elections draw near, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has once again brought attention to the integrity of electronic voting machines (EVMs), expressing doubts about their reliability. Singh stated that despite reaching out to the Election Commission of India (ECI) with his concerns, he has received no response nor has been granted a meeting with the commission.

Speaking to ANI in Rajgarh, Singh reiterated his questions regarding the EVMs, particularly focusing on three key points. He questioned whether the EVMs are standalone machines, if the Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) has any connectivity to the internet, and which software is installed in the VVPAT through the symbol loading unit. Singh criticized the ECI for not addressing these queries and accused them of partiality in their actions.
In a video shared on social media, Singh alleged that the EVMs are connected to the internet, downloading software from the ECI Central Server before being installed in the VVPAT unit. He called upon the ECI to clarify these allegations.

During a campaign rally, Singh proposed the use of ballot papers in elections, especially in cases where a large number of candidates contest from one seat. He expressed readiness to adopt this method if necessary.
As Singh gears up to file his nomination for the Lok Sabha elections from Rajgarh on April 16, he urged his supporters to prioritize their presence at the polling booths over accompanying him during the filing process. Emphasizing the importance of voter participation, Singh encouraged supporters to engage in booth committee meetings and ensure their presence during the voting process.
Rajgarh, along with seven other parliamentary seats in Madhya Pradesh, will go to polls in the third phase on May 7. The nomination filing process for this phase begins today and will continue until April 19, with scrutiny of nominations scheduled for April 20 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature set for April 22.
The Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh will be conducted in four phases, with polling dates on April 19, April 26, May 7, and May 13.
