If We Come To Power, Will Send Modi To Jail says Lalu’s Daughter Misa Bharti

If We Come To Power, Will Send Modi To Jail says Lalu’s Daughter Misa Bharti: Misa Bharti, daughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has ignited a fresh political controversy with her recent statement. Speaking on Sunday, Bharti asserted that if the opposition-led INDI Alliance comes to power, all BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would be put behind bars.

Her remarks drew swift condemnation from BJP leaders, who accused her of trivializing her father’s promises. Sudhanshu Trivedi, a BJP MP, remarked, “With this statement, she is making her father’s ‘pratigya’ laughable.”

Ravi Shankar Prasad, another BJP MP, cautioned Bharti against making such statements, alleging that her family is deeply mired in corruption. Your family is immersed in corruption. You need to stop daydreaming,” Prasad asserted.

Adding to the criticism, BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawade highlighted the purported decline in the opposition’s campaign standards. “The level of the opposition’s campaign has stooped so low that they are talking about ‘Modi ji marega’ (Modi will die),” Tawade remarked. He emphasized the need for a discourse focused on addressing corruption rather than personal attacks.

Misa Bharti is slated to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Pataliputra constituency against BJP candidate Ram Kripal Yadav, who defeated her in the previous elections.

The state of Bihar is gearing up for polling across 40 Lok Sabha seats in seven phases. In the 2019 elections, the NDA secured victory on 39 out of 40 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan managed to secure only one seat.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Bihar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the dominant force, securing 22 seats, followed by the Lok Jan Shakti Party (LJP) with 6 seats. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won 4 seats, while the Indian National Congress (INC) secured only 2 seats.
