In a recent statement, Davoud Rezaei Eskandari, the Acting Consul General of Iran to Mumbai, reiterated Iran’s stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict, emphasizing that Iran does not recognize Israel as a legitimate country.

Eskandari proposed a democratic solution for the Palestinian people, including Muslims, Jews, and Christians, suggesting that they should hold elections to determine their fate. He stated, “We don’t recognize an entity like Israel to be a country. After the Islamic Republic of Iran’s victory in Iraq, we have proposed a very reasonable solution for the Palestinian cause.“
Referring to historical events, Eskandari mentioned the Iran-Iraq War, which lasted from 1980 to 1988, highlighting Iran’s resilience despite facing sanctions.
Regarding recent events, it was reported that Israel launched missile strikes against Tehran, following Iran’s offensive on targets around Israel. However, the details of the strikes and their impact on Syria and Iraq remain unconfirmed.
Eskandari addressed the US sanctions on Iran, stating that they have not hindered Iran’s progress but rather spurred it to achieve advancements in various fields.
Highlighting the friendship between India and Iran, Eskandari expressed gratitude for the Indo-Iranian Friendship Forum and praised India’s historical support for the Palestinian people. He stated, “India has a very good reputation for supporting the people of Palestine. I think it’s an asset for India.”
The statement from the Iranian diplomat underscores the ongoing tensions in the Middle East and Iran’s unwavering stance on the Israel-Palestine issue. As the situation continues to evolve, diplomatic efforts and dialogues remain crucial for finding a peaceful resolution to the longstanding conflict.
