In a retaliatory move against Iran, Israel launched missile strikes, targeting Tehran during the early hours of Friday morning, according to a senior US official cited by ABC News.

The strikes, however, did not confirm whether sites in Syria and Iraq were also hit. Reports of explosions in the Isfahan region of Central Iran emerged shortly after the missile launches.
Iran’s air defense systems were activated in response to the explosions near the airport and an army base in Isfahan, as reported by state media.
The missile attacks come after Iran’s offensive on targets around Israel the previous Saturday, where over 300 unmanned drones and missiles were fired, according to Israeli military authorities.
Additionally, Syrian media reported attacks on Syrian Army locations in the southern governorates of As-Suwayda and Daraa. The attacks targeted military radar sites between Qarda and Izraa in southern Syria.
Residents of Mosul and Erbil in Iraq reported hearing fighter jets during the early morning hours on Friday.
According to officials, Israel, along with its allies including the US, intercepted the majority of the missiles launched by Iran.
The recent escalation follows a series of incidents, including an alleged Israeli air strike on Iran’s consulate in Syria, which resulted in the killing of three Iranian generals.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reiterated Israel’s commitment to protecting itself, even if it contradicts the advice of its allies.
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, warned against further military actions targeting Iranian interests and urged the international community to intervene.
Amir-Abdollahian accused Israel of violating international law and criticized the lack of action by the US, UK, and France in response to previous attacks on Iranian interests.
Tensions between Iran and Israel continue to escalate, with both sides vowing to defend their respective interests in the region.
